DHyE signs Contract Agreement with BHSL for Druk Bindu Hydro-Mechanical works

Druk Hydro Energy Limited (DHyE) and Bhutan Hydropower Services Limited (BHSL) signed a contract agreement for the execution of hydro-mechanical works for the (18+8) MW Druk Bindu I & II Hydropower Projects on March 28, 2026.

The agreement, valued at Nu. 1.069 billion, includes the design, manufacture, supply, testing, installation, and commissioning of essential hydro-mechanical equipment. This marks a significant step in advancing Bhutan’s hydropower development while strengthening in-house technical capabilities.

Under the agreement, BHSL will undertake the execution and completion of the works, including addressing any defects to ensure quality and performance standards. DHyE, as the employer, will facilitate payments in line with agreed terms based on progress and completion.

The project is scheduled for completion by May 24, 2027, ensuring a clear and structured timeline for delivery. Key contractual components such as performance security, integrity pact, and technical specifications are incorporated to maintain transparency and accountability.

This collaboration reflects DGPC’s continued commitment to expanding Bhutan’s clean energy capacity while strengthening domestic expertise.
